Finding New Life
Hope Within the Prison Walls
“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
In February, a Sunday worship service at Arba Minch Women’s Prison offered a beautiful reminder that God’s mercy reaches every corner. As women gathered to worship and pray, we were grateful for the opportunity to share the hope of Christ and remind them that they are loved and not forgotten.
We also have wonderful news to celebrate: eight women have given their lives to Jesus and been baptized! We rejoice with them as they take this step of faith.
Through Love for Ethiopia’s discipleship program, women who wish to participate gather for weekly Bible study with our female Bible teacher. These gatherings provide opportunities to learn from Scripture, ask questions, pray together, and find encouragement amid the hardships of prison life.
Our commitment continues beyond baptism. We want to walk alongside these women as they grow in faith, helping them understand God’s Word and put it into practice each day.
The video and photos shared here offer a glimpse of worship and fellowship within the prison walls. They remind us why being present matters: even in painful circumstances, there is room for joy, connection, and new beginnings.
Please pray for these eight women, for our Bible teacher, and for the mothers and children living in the prison. Pray that they would know God’s nearness and find strength in His love.
Thank you for supporting this ministry through your prayers and generosity. You help make it possible for us to continue showing up with practical care, encouragement, and the good news of Jesus Christ.
