ABOUT US
Love For Ethiopia is a 501 (c)(3) charity. All donations are tax-deductable. We are a grassroots organization run mostly by families who have adopted from Ethiopia, and are volunteering their time and talents.
At Love For Ethiopia We believe that education is a building block that has the potential to lift children out of poverty. We believe that by providing children with a quality education that extends past the elemetary grades we are giving them the chance for better life choices. Proverbs 3:27 says " Withhold not good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it." These children are so deserving! |

OUR MISSION
To care for the orphans and marginalized children of Ethiopia by providing them with an opportunity for a quality education. We believe that this can be the first step in helping them break their cycle of poverty.
Ethiopia has the largest youth population in Sub-Saharan Africa, yet only 40% of these children complete their primary education and only 13% are enrolled in secondary school. There is also a huge disparity in education level between children living in rural areas and those in urban areas. A country by country comparison of their population's respective literacy percentages can be found here.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
COURTNEY GULLETT In 2008 the Gullett family embarked on a journey that would change their lives forever. Not only were they adopting from Ethiopia but they were beginning a nonprofit that would continue to tie them to this amazing country for future years. Love for Ethiopia is truly what the name says, a deep profound love for the people and culture. Courtney fell in love with the country even before stepping off the plane to meet her son for the first time in 2008. After conducting what seemed like endless hours of research, Courtney saw the connection between quality education and poverty. There is so much evidence to support that education is one of the fundemental keys to breaking the generational cycles of poverty that plauge Ethiopia. Courtney wants to thank God for directing her path to this counrty and the gifts that it has given and continues to give to her. |
